The board members have outstanding commercial and academic experiences from both international and national life science and industrial development. Beside their industry knowledge, they share a common interest and drive for the development of a prospering life science industry in Sweden.

Chairman SwedenBIO, Chairman of the Board Elekta and Ortivus AB

Akbar Seddigh founded the medical-technical company Medical Invest AB, now named Ortivus AB, in 1985.

He's a member of the board in several leading medtech and biotech companies, including Affärsstrategerna i Sverige, Artimplant, Elekta, Mobimed, Neoventa Medical and Samba Sensors

 



Lars Adlersson

Mr. Lars Adlersson is a partner at pharma search & advice ab, a company providing the life science industry with recruitment services, strategic business advice and hands-on support in M&A processes. During 2003-2009, Lars served as CEO for Medivir AB (OMX: MVIR). Previously, he held a number of executive positions at Janssen Pharma and the Glaxo group, such as CEO for Sweden and Austria. He has also gained experience from a position as senior analyst at Handelsbanken Capital Markets.

 



Mr. Peter Ehrenheim

Mr. Peter Ehrenheim

CEO GE Healthcare Life Sciences

Mr. Peter Ehrenheim started his career in what is now GE Healthcare in 1983. He has held positions in R&D, Marketing, Manufacturing and Business Development, including a 3 year assignment as head of the PL Biochemicals site in Milwaukee. Since 1999 he's Head of Protein Separations and in 2004 he was also promoted to Vice President of GE Healthcare. Mr Ehrenheim is CEO of GE Healthcare Life Sciences since 2006.



Dr. Hans Hultberg

Assoc. Professor, Head of External Relations Strategic Planning Business Development, AstraZeneca

Dr Hultberg began his career at Stockholm University as Associate Professor of Organic Chemistry. He later worked at KabiGen, the first true biotech company in Scandinavia, with a focus on bio-pharmaceuticals.

Dr Hultberg was recruited to Astra AB in 1993 as project coordinator focused on the CNS project portfolio. In 1996 he was appointed Corporate Bioscience Advisor to the Head of Pre-clinical Affairs. Dr. Hans Hultberg is currently the Head of Global Discovery Alliances at AstraZeneca with responsibility for all external research collaborations across Discovery with both biotech companies and academia. He has held this position since 2000.



Mr Per Samulesson

Mr. Samuelsson is a partner of HealthCap, which he joined in 2000. Before that Mr. Samuelsson gained over 15 years of investment banking experience, mainly with Aros Securities in Sweden. In his most recent position with Aros Securities, as a Director in the firm's corporate finance department, he specialised in the areas of Merger Transactions, Initial Public Offerings and Equity Incentive Programs. Prior to this Mr. Samuelsson was head of Research, also at Aros Securities. Mr. Samuelsson received his M.Sc. in Engineering from the Institute of Technology in Linköping.

 



Eva Sjökvist Saers

Eva Sjökvist Saers has been the head of APL since 2003. Eva previously headed Apoteket's dosage operation and was part of the corporate management team of Apoteket AB. For several years, Eva held various management positions within Research and Development, focusing on pharmaceutical product development within Astra Pain Control and AstraZeneca. Eva was also global project manager for strategic projects within AstraZeneca. Eva is chairman of the Swedish Academy of Pharmaceutical Sciences and a member of the board of Karolinska Institutet Holding AB and Dilafor AB.
 



Mr Svein Mathiesen

Mr. Svein Mathiesen is the CEO of BioInvent International AB since 1997. Before joining BioInvent Mr. Mathiesen held a number of senior positions within the Norsk Hydro Group. While at Norsk Hydro his appointments included Head of Finance and Vice President Business Development in different business units within the Group.

Mr. Georg Thies represents Amgen as a Country Director in Sweden since 2008.

Mr. Magnus Nilsson is the CEO of Vitrolife AB (publ), a global biotechnological/medical device company specializing in developing, manufacturing and selling of advance products and systems for preparation, cultivation and storage of human cells, tissues and organs. The company has three product areas: Fertility, Transplanation and Stem Cell Cultivation. Vitrolife is listed on the NASDAQ OMX Stockholm, Small Cap.
Magnus is Doctor of Medical Science at University of Uppsala. He has been in Vitrolife since 1998 and holds the position as CEO since 2003. Formerly Project Manager of Clinical and Pre-clinical Pharmaceuticals Development, KaroBio AB and Pharmacia & Upjohn AB.




Thomas Eldered

Mr. Thomas Eldered

CEO Recipharm

Mr. Thomas Eldered is the CEO of Recipharm since 2008. Mr. Eldered was co-founder of Recip, as the company was called then, in 1995 and held the position of executive vice president 1995-2007.
During this time Mr. Eldered worked with developing the local Swedish pharmaceutical company Recip into the multinational pharmaceutical manufacturer Recipharm. Before that Mr. Eldered gained 10 years of experience from various positions in the pharmaceutical industry, mainly from Kabi Pharmacia. Mr. Eldered holds a M. Sc. degree in Engineering from the Institute of Technology in Linköping.
