Johan Järte

Johan Järte (b 1956) has an MD from Karolinska Institutet and holds a speciality degree in clinical radiology. Dr Järte has 20 years experience from the pharmaceutical industry in various leading positions at Pharmacia, Orion Pharma, Janssen-Cilag and Serono Nordic, covering areas from pre-clinical development to marketing within pharmaceutical development.
The recent 5 years he has successfully built SentoClone AB as a CEO that included building a clean room for cell expansions, hiring approximately 30 new employees and raised 130 MSEK in new issues. After this period he was hired part time CEO for the med tech company CathPrint AB and part time as consultant radiologist.
During these years within the industry Dr Järte has been engaged in different trade organisations such as Lif (trade association for the research-based pharmaceutical industry in Sweden), IML (Innovative smaller LifeScience companies in Sweden) and as well SwedenBIO.

Karina Eskilsson

Karina Eskilsson is Communication Manager at SwedenBIO since August 2011. Karina Eskilsson has 20 years’ experience in communications, particularly from the pharmaceutical sector, such as External Affairs Manager at Merck Sharp & Dohme (Sweden) AB and several positions at Kabi/Pharmacia/Upjohn, but also as consultant at Rikta Kommunikation and in her own business. Karina Eskilsson has a BA in Communication Studies.

Sara Gunnerås

PhD Gunnerås joined SwedenBIO August 2011.
Prior to joining SwedenBIO she was employed as Patent Manager at Atlas Antibodies. Gunnerås defended her doctoral thesis at the Department of Forrest Genetics and Plant Physiology, Umeå Plant Science Center, Swedish Agriculture University (SLU), Umeå,  in 2005 and she also has an MSc in Biology from Umeå University.

Jonas Ekstrand

Jonas Ekstrand is a Doctor of Medical Science from Karolinska Institutet and joined SwedenBIO in September 2011. He brings more than 25 years of international experience as an academic scientist and manager in the pharmaceutical and biotechnology industry. Previous positions include CEO of Actar AB, Director of Biology and Molecular Science at Medivir AB, member of the board of directors Clanotech AB, Associate Director Molecular Biology AstraZeneca R&D, Assistant Professor Karolinska Institutet, visiting scientist Howard Hughes Medical Institute, Instructor in Neurosurgery and Associate Research Investigator at Emory University School of Medicine and Postdoctoral fellow at University of British Columbia.

Anette Amareh

Anette Amareh joined SwedenBIO in August 2011.

She has 17 years’ experience from the pharmaceutical industry as an assistant at Merck Sharp & Dohme (Sweden) AB on the Medical Department and Marketing Department.

Anette is also familiar with the Biotech Industry where she worked at SentoClone AB for two and half year as a Receptionist/Assistant.

Maria Kaaman

PhD. Maria Kaaman joined SwedenBIO core team in August 2009.
Maria Kaaman started as Project Manager at SwedenBIO in  May 2008, when she was a temporary project manager for Science, Clinical Trials/Regulatory and Intellectual Property WGs. In 2009 she assisted the EU Support Office and the PR Support Office.

PhD. Kaaman defended her thesis in  December 2007 at the Department of Medicine, Lipidlaboratory, Karolinska Institutet.

Since August 2011 PhD Kaaman is on maternity leave.

Björn Kull

Björn Kull has doctorate degree in Neuropharmacology from Karolinska Institutet and joined Sweden Bio in January 2012. He brings more than 15 years of experience in management and research strategy and knowledge of the various national and European funding programs both from an academic and an industry perspective.  His previous position was VP discovery Biology at Actar AB.
